Lund University announces a 2-month research project assistant 75% employment in cognitive semiotics with a specialization in polysemiotic communication, at Centre for Languages and Literature, Lund University. The period for the employment is from 26 October to 25 December 2020.

General: Cognitive Semiotics at Lund University is a relatively new discipline, combining theories and methods from semiotics, linguistics and cognitive science, in the transdisciplinary study of meaning and sense-making.
Job description:
The assistantship is part of the Swedish Research Council-project POLYSEM: Polysemiotic communication: Integrating language, gesture and depiction in three cultural practices. The tasks include coding the drawings in video-recorded data collected in Paama and Central Australia, using the software ELAN.
Criteria:
By the start of the position, the applicant must have
(a) a MA thesis in cognitive semiotics
(b) experience with drawing (depiction) as a semiotic system.
