The associate senior lecturer will be part of a research group aiming to develop an improved understanding of e.g. hydraulic, mechanical and chemical properties of geological and other materials. The purpose is to create a foundation for handling important societal and environmental issues as contaminated land, available and drinkable groundwater and conditions for construction of tunnels and other infrastructures and also management of the latter. In this field of engineering geology, electrical and electromagnetic methods, applied in both field and laboratory scales, are combined with other investigations, such as for example seismic/acoustic and magnetic resonance techniques, and archive data, numerical modelling, joint inversion and multi-parameter interpretation.
Work duties
Employment as an associate senior lecturer is a career development position and aims for the holder to develop his or her independence as a researcher and educator. The work duties mainly involve research and teaching. The position includes the opportunity for five weeks of training in higher education teaching and Learning.

The work duties of the associate senior lecturer will, in relation to the subject description above, be focused on spectral electrical properties determined from measurements in time-domain, supplemented by and referenced to the frequency-domain measurement approach. Another main work duty is different approaches for joint interpretation of material properties at different scales, ranging from macroscopic to microscopic and smaller.
The research will initially be applied in close co-operation with colleagues running projects on groundwater resources management, structural health monitoring of hydropower dams and also geophysical monitoring of physical, chemical and biological processes in the subsurface.
Qualification requirements
Appointment to associate senior lecturer requires that the applicant has a PhD, or acquired corresponding research expertise.
Priority should be given to applicants who have completed their degree or acquired the corresponding expertise no more than five years before the last date for applications.

Terms of employment
This is a full-time, fixed-term employment of six years. The period of employment is determined in accordance with Chapter 4 Section 12a§ HEA.
