Lund University invites applications for a permanent position as professor of digital cultures (full time) with an emphasis on at least one of the following fields: aesthetic perspectives, information and communication science perspectives or sociocultural and societal perspectives.
The position is located at the Division of ALM and Digital Cultures. Digital cultures is a field of education and research dedicated to the study of historical and current digital phenomena and change processes by applying a cultural science and critical perspective to digital everyday culture, digital media and the digitisation of culture and society. The subject constitutes an important element in the departmental environment and engages teaching staff and researchers from several divisions.
The professor is to participate actively in all parts of the division’s activities and to contribute to departmental work. The main work duty is to lead and develop research into digital cultures but also to teach on the division’s degree programmes. Teaching may also occur in adjacent subjects. Besides lectures and seminars, the teaching assignment also includes responsibility for courses, course development, course administration and supervision of degree projects. In addition, supervision of doctoral students and development work within the subject are also included in the position.
The ability to speak and write in academic English is a requirement from the start of employment. The majority of teaching takes place in Swedish, however, which is why the successful candidate must be able to write, read and speak a Scandinavian language within two years of entering the position.
A person who has demonstrated both research and teaching expertise shall be qualified for employment as a professor. The assessment criteria for appointment as a professor shall be the degree of the expertise required as a qualification for employment. For appointment as a professor there is a requirement for training in teaching and learning in higher education amounting to at least five weeks or that equivalent knowledge has been acquired in some other way.
In the assessment, equal consideration is given to teaching expertise and research expertise.
