The Division of Pure and Applied Biochemistry has a long-term research project to develop oat with low lipase activities in the grain. Several oat lines with decreased lipase levels have been identified from a mutant oat population, and potential lipase encoded genes have been identified from our unique oat genome sequence. To strengthen our research in oat molecular biology, we are announcing a researcher position to focus on further genomic analysis of lipase genes, transcriptomic analysis of lipase genes expressed in developing oat seeds and biochemical characterisation of mutated lines.
