The research group

The cardiovascular epidemiology research group is doing research in cardiovascular and pulmonary diseases. The research has been leading in this field and is based on well-examined population-based cohorts from Malmö. Head of the research group is professor Gunnar Engström and the group consists of several PhD students and post-doc researchers. The research group is located at Clinical Research Center in Malmö. We are currently looking for a postdoctoral fellow. The employment is 100 % and is a fixed-term employment of a maximum of 2 years. Desired starting date is 2021-01-01 or by agreement.

Job description

This research project aims to explore the relationships between cardiovascular and pulmonary diseases in population-based cohorts. The tasks include statistical analysis of population-based databases, set-up of databases, journal briefings and validation of diagnoses, manuscript writing and publication of manuscripts. The job role could also include teaching and supervision or physical examinations of participants in clinical studies. 

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Researcher with PhD in cardiopulmonary epidemiology.
  • Licensure, Medical. 
  • Very good knowledge in the field of cardiovascular and pulmonary epidemiology.

There will be a large emphasis towards personal characteristics. The applicant should be able to work independently through the whole research process from data analysis, interpretation of results through publication of results.

Additional requirements:

  • Particularly meritorious is the experience of SPSS and / or STATA
  • Experience of clinical-physiological examinations.
  • Very good knowledge of English.

Terms of employment

This is a full-time, fixed-term employment of a maximum of 2 years. The period of employment is determined in accordance with the agreement “Avtal om tidsbegränsad anställning som postdoktor” (“Agreement on fixed-term employment as a post-doctoral fellow”) between Lund University, SACO-S, OFR/S and SEKO, dated 4 September 2008.
