The research at the division of Solid State Physics is focused around different aspects of semiconductor physics, ranging from materials science to quantum physics, to different applications. The division also leads NanoLund, the major interdisciplinary research environment within nanoscience and nanotechnology at Lund University. Lund Nano Lab is a central key facility for fabrication of material and devices on the nanoscale. Work duties
The position will be part of a project aiming to develop nanostructured surfaces for biosensing, specifically for optical detection of biomarkers such as proteins in blood serum. The project takes place in close collaboration between Solid State Physics and start-up companies, as well as in the framework of the Swedish Research Council Research Environment Genes & Wires.

Specific work duties will include:

  • to perform experiments on detection of biomarkers using semiconductor nanowires
  • planning of experimental series
  • biochemical assay optimization,
  • fluorescence microscopy and data analysis.  

Qualifications

  • Master degree in nanoscience, biotechnology or a related field
  • Proficiency in fluorescence microscopy
  • Experience in working with biochemical assays

Other merits:

  • Experience in working in close collaboration between academia and private sector
  • Experience in using single-molecule analysis techniques, such as Picasso
  • Experience in working with semiconductor nanowires
  • Experience in optimizing immunoassays.
