Job description

The research group works with ultrafast spectroscopy to study light-induced processes in new solar energy materials. Specifically, in this project novel phase modulation technique is developed and applied in combination with imaging at different temperature down to the liquid nitrogen temperature. In data analyses various methods will be used including machine learning algorithms.

The researcher will be responsible for the fs phase modulation lab at the Division of Chemical Physics. The main responsibility is in the phase modulation of the fs pulses and the computer driven lock-in detection system which needs new software development for the experimental setup. The data analyses routines through Fourier analyses and machine learning, will be also developed.

Qualifications

Requirements

  • PhD in optical physics, chemical physics or similar
  • Experience with ultrafast spectroscopy and phase modulation technique.
  • Good English both oral and written
  • Earlier experience with programming
  • The work requires capacity for independent research and experience in problem solving
  • Good team work capacity is also expected

Meritorious

  • Earlier experinece in coherent multidimensional spectroscopy and Feynman diagram technique.
  • Experience with programming user interface and experimental control systems in optical experiments, particularly in phase modulated ultrafast spectroscopy.

Consideration will also be given to good collaborative skills, drive and independence, and how the applicant’s experience and skills complement and strengthen ongoing research within the department, and how they stand to contribute to its future development.
