The University has around 47 000 students and more than 8 800 staff based in Lund, Helsingborg and Malmö. Lund University Diabetes Centre (LUDC; www.ludc.lu.se) is one of the world's largest diabetes centres with some 300 employees (researchers and other staff) who work to prevent diabetes and improve its diagnosis and treatment. To achieve these goals, we at the centre work to combine expertise in genetics, epidemiology, bioinformatics, molecular and cell biology, physiology, clinical diabetes and endocrinology. LUDC has a large collection of biobanks and databases with whole genome data linked to national registers with information concerning the origin and progression of the disease, as well as to registers concerning treatments and responses to treatments. The centre has its own platforms for most molecular genetic methods and metabolomics. Omics data, combined with detailed phenotype data, enable us to use "systems medicine" to understand the complexity of diabetes. An important area for LUDC is developing individualised treatments to improve the health and quality of life of patients with diabetes.

The research group

The work is conducted within the framework of the SSF-funded project LUDC-IRC (www.ludc.lu.se/about-us/ludc-irc) and the strategic research environment EXODIAB (https://www.exodiab.se/home/).

At LUDC, we foster a good work environment characterised by respect and consideration in our relationships with each other, and we constantly work to create the conditions for job satisfaction, development and participation for all employees.

The research group for diabetic complications at the Department of Clinical Sciences, Malmö, hereby announces a permanent full-time employment, starting as soon as possible or by agreement. Probationary employment may be applied.
