Project Assistant at Biology/ MEMEG and Evol Ecol

Work duties
We wish to recruit a project assistant with employment at the Department of Biology, Lund University. The project assistant will be active in the research group SexGen in projects run by Bengt Hansson and Jessica Abbott. The coworker is expected to coordinate bioinformatics analyses.

Qualifications

  • Education: Master's degree in biology or bioinformatics.
  • Experience: Personal experience of a number of bioinformatics programs in genomics is a necessary prerequisite.
  • Knowledge: Good knowledge of both Python and bash.

Other merits

  • Experience: Previous experience of bioinformatics analyzes of sequence data from Drosophila and Sylvioidea is a plus.

We will place great emphasis on personal suitability. Consideration will also be given to good collaborative skills, drive and independence, and how the applicant’s experience and skills are judged to have the ability needed to cope with the tasks.

Terms of employment
Fixed-term employment during 5 months. Part time (80% of full time).
