We are looking for a researcher with a solid background in transport modeling and traffic safety. We foresee a researcher who is interested in trying out alternative methods and proposing innovative theories aimed at further developing the research field. The researcher will work e.g. in a project, containing statistical analyses of cloud-based travel survey data.

Work duties The position duties target safety for vulnerable road users, interaction with Connected and Automated Vehicles and the application of novel methods for data collection. The approach is mainly quantitative, requiring knowledge in transport modelling, accident modelling and qualified statistical analyses.

The work duties contain:

  • Research within the subject area
  • Participation in a new travel survey project
  • Teaching in the first, second and third cycles of studies
  • Opportunity for training in higher education teaching and learning shall be given if teaching is part of the work duties.
  • Supervision of degree projects and doctoral students
  • Actively seeking external research funding
  • Collaboration with industry and wider society
  • Administration related to the work duties listed above

Qualification requirements Applicants must have:

  • A PhD within the subject of the position.
  • Very good oral and written proficiency in English.
  • Basic proficiency in Swedish.

Assessment criteria and other qualifications

Experience of and ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team, in EU-projects, as well as experience from grant application writing, targeting Swedish funding agencies.

Consideration will also be given to good collaborative skills, drive and independence, and how the applicant’s experience and skills complement and strengthen ongoing research within the department, and how they stand to contribute to its future development.

Terms of employment Fixed-term employment, 100 %, 12 months.
