The work duties involve: 1) identify important regulatory aspects for the design of public transport networks and tariff systems; 2) map actors and their relations that are involved in the coordination and collaboration for designing public transport networks and tariff systems in the context of multimodal networks and in an international setting; and 3) deliver recommendations for integrating citizens' participatory approaches to the regulatory framework and policy instruments.

Applied methods are expected to consist of literature review, document reviews, interviews, participation in observations and the collection and analysis the data. Data are analysed both qualitatively and quantitatively using e.g. statistical methods, thematic content analysis, discourse analysis. The tasks involve frequent contacts and collaboration with external actors in Sweden, and other European countries that are involved in the EU project for the collection of information and data as well as for effective dissemination of research results. The PhD candidate is expected to actively participate in EU project meetings, as well as collaborate and coordinate with other EU project partners. 1. Knowledge and skills relevant to the thesis project and the subject of study. These may be demonstrated through documents appended to the application and at a possible interview.
  2. An assessment of ability to work independently and to formulate and tackle research problems. The assessment could be made on the basis of the student’s degree project and a discussion of this at a possible interview.
  3. Written and oral communication skills, not least in making researchbased knowledge available to a wider audience, public debate, legislators or in industrial collaborations.
  4. Other experience relevant to the third-cycle studies, e.g. professional experience.

Other assessment criteria:
