Subject description
The recruited researcher is expected to work with the synthesis, characterization, and photophysical study of low dimensional perovskite single crystals. This involves development and structural characterization of the novel 2D perovskite single crystals for the solar cell application. Using ultrafast laser spectroscopy to investigate the excited state dynamics and emission features of those single crystals to understand the underlying mechanism for the device application.
Work duties
- Research within the field of structural characterization and photo-physics studies of perovskite single crystals.
- Supervision of degree projects and doctoral students.
Qualification requirements
Applicants must have:
- A PhD or equivalent research qualification within the subject of the position.
- Very good oral and written proficiency in English.
- Knowledge and experience of perovskite and other semiconductor single crystal growth.
- Background of single crystal crystallography.
- Experiment of ultrafast laser spectroscopy.
Assessment criteria and other qualifications
The interdisplinary expertise on the materials science and photophysics will be considered as merit. Experience to work in the synchortron facilities will be considered as a merit.
Consideration will also be given to good collaborative skills, drive and independence, and how the applicant’s experience and skills complement and strengthen ongoing research within the department, and how they stand to contribute to its future development.
Terms of employment
Fixed-term employment of 6 months, 210601-211130.
