Researcher in Biotechnology - Hiring in process/Finished, not possible to apply

The position is placed at the Department of Chemistry, Division of Biotechnology. The division conducts research and education at the undergraduate and research level in various areas of biotechnology such as industrial biotechnology, environmental biotechnology, and biotechnology for health. The research includes studies of a basic nature as well as pure biotech-
nological applications.

Work duties

• Research within STEPS (Sustainable Plastics and Transition Path-ways) which is an interdisciplinary research program. The research is about modification and development of microorganisms through genetic engineering methods and metabolic engineering to produce polymer building blocks from sugar.
• Participate in the supervision of a doctoral student and master's students.
• Administration linked to the tasks above is included.

Qualification requirements Applicants must have:

• A PhD in Biotechnology or equivalent research qualification within the subject of the position.
• Two-four years of postdoctoral experience.
• Research experience in genetic modification of bacteria and yeast, including development of new applications of CRISPR / Cas9 technology.
• Experience of cultivation techniques in fermenter and analysis of metabolites.
• Experience of publishing in highly ranked journals.
• Experience of supervising students.
• Very good knowledge of English in speech and writing and good communication skills.

Assessment criteria and other qualifications Consideration will be given to good collaboration ability, drive and independence, as well as how the applicant, through his/her experience and competence, is judged to complement and strengthen ongoing research within the department and contribute to its future development. 

Terms of employment Temporary employment, 100 %, 4 months.
