The research group

We are now recruiting a PhD student for a research project in adipocyte biology led by Senior lecturer Karin Stenkula. The research group is located at the Biomedical Centre in Lund within the diabetes, metabolism and endocrinology section. The group conducts experimental diabetes research on adipose tissue function with particular focus on identifying mechanisms that regulate expansion and hormone sensitivity of adipose tissue. The research group has several established collaborations at Lund University as well as other national and international higher education institutions.  Here you can read more about our exciting research:Karin Stenkula - Lunds universitet

Within the research group, we care about a good working environment, and strive to maintain a stimulating environment for all employees.  The position is limited to 4 years full-time, possible starting date 1 September 2021 or according to agreement.

Specifically, this involves experimental cell- and molecular biology analyses (e.g. gene expression, fat and glucose storage, size distribution, and microscopy) in different adipocyte cell models.

Qualifications

Required qualifications:

- Master's degree in Biomedicine, Biochemistry or similar.

- Interest in cell biology research with focus on adipose tissue is central.

- Fluent knowledge of English, both in writing and speech.
