We are united in our efforts to understand, explain and improve our world and the human condition.

Lund University welcomes applicants with diverse backgrounds and experiences. We regard gender equality and diversity as a strength and an asset.

Work duties
The research will be focused on the analysis and design of parallel methods in the context of high order space discretizations with implicit time integration for unsteady compressible flows. The aim is to design scalable, fast and efficient methods for the next generation of solvers for Large Eddy Simulations (LES). This will be in collaboration with other groups in Sweden, Germany and the US.

Teaching duties in numerical analysis of up to 20% can be included in the job assignment.

Qualification requirements
The candidate must have a PhD in Numerical Analysis or similar and have demonstrable expertise in high order discretizations for Partial Differential Equations (PDEs), computational Fluid Dynamics, implicit time integration and iterative solvers.

The candidate must have good programming skills in Fortran or C++ and demonstrable experience with parallel implementation of numerical methods for PDEs.
The candidate should have good communication and collaboration skills and an interest in
interdisciplinary work.

Assessment criteria and other qualifications
Consideration will also be given to good collaborative skills, drive and independence, and how the applicant’s experience and skills complement and strengthen ongoing research within the department, and how they stand to contribute to its future development.
