Subject description The Division of Pure and Applied Biochemiry has research and education in the areas of molecular imprinting, bioseparation technology, protein engineering, bio- and biomimetic sensors, biomaterials and biomedical nutrition. The division is seeking an experienced researcher to strengthen its competence in nucleic acid-based isothermal amplification and CRISPR-Cas proteins for biochemical analysis, and for development of new biomimetic sensors.

Work duties

  • Research in the fields of nucleic acid amplification for bioanalysis.
  • Research in the use of CRISP-Cas proteins for biochemical analysis.
  • Application of external research funding.
  • Administration work related to the tasks mentioned above.

 Qualification requirements Applicants must have:

  • Completed doctoral degree in the fields of applied life sciences or biomedical engineering.
  • Very good oral and written proficiency in English.
  • Experience in isothermal nucelic acid amplification techniques.
  • Experience of using CRISPR-Cas proteins in biochemical analysis.

Consideration will also be given to good collaboration skills, drive and independence, as well as how the applicant, through his or her experience and competence, is judged to complement and strengthen ongoing research within the department and contribute to its future development.

Assessment criteria and other qualifications

  • Ability to supervise younger researchers.
  • International experience is considered positive.
  • Experiences in electrophoresis, fluorescence detection and imaging, and use of micro/nanoparticle materials are an advantage for the candidate.

Terms of employment Fixed-term employment, 100 %,  from 2021-08-01 until 2022-07-31.
