Work duties This position is connected to the project MARIKAT, which aims at unveiling enzymatic tools of marine origin for utilizing seaweed as feedstock. The project involves characterization of enzymes, evaluation of enzymes on the target macroalgae to develop special bioconversion process, and investigation of marine microbiomes targeting novel activities for processing sulphated polysaccharides and thermostable counterparts to enzymes relevant for the processes under development. The work duties in the project include:

  • Research related work duties within the areas described above, including enzyme characterization and development of bioconversion processes.
  • Writing reports and manuscripts related to project.
  • Administration related to the work duties listed above.

Qualifications

  • A Master’s in Biotechnology, Food Technology, or other similar fields.
  • Knowledge in enzyme biotechnology, microbiology, and genetic engineering.
  • Ability to analyse and interpret research data as well publish the research findings in the peer reviewed journals.
  • Good oral and written proficiency in English.

Other merits

  • Good problem-solving skills with the ability to analyse and merge data from research findings and other scientific writings.
  • Good collaborative skills, independent and self-motivated performance.
  • Understanding on protein structures and functions.
  • Experience in microbiological techniques, fermentation and related analyses.
  • Experience in analytical skills such as HPLC and HPAEC.
  • Experience in scientific writing .
