The Department of Clinical Sciences in Lund (IKVL) is one of six institutions at the Faculty of
Medicine, Lund University. The department has a broad collaboration, both within the faculty and within other units at the University. IKVL also has a well-developed collaboration with Skåne University Hospital (SUS) and Region Skåne as well as the surrounding community and business. This is topromote clinical and experimental translational research, development and education.

The research group
Infection medicine proteomics (IMP) is a research group that use mass spectrometry-based proteomics techniques to decipher the molecular properties of a protective immune responses against bacterial pathogens.

The research group is now looking for a laboratory engineer for a temporary employment for 1 year with proposed start date 2021-09-01 (or by agreement).


Work tasks
The work will include using python and other tools to analyze quantitative mass spectrometry data to better understand the composition and dynamics of bacterial surface proteomes.

Other existing tasks within the research group may also be relevant.


Qualifications
Requirements:

  • Master’s degree in bioinformatics, computer science or similar
  • Proficiency in Python programming
  • Proficiency in git
  • Experience with bioinformatics analysis

Great emphasis will be placed on personal qualities. You should have the ability to work independently with a good abstract thinking and problem solving skills. We also like to see that you have good communication skills and a high proficiency in written and spoken English.

Highly desirable:

  • Understanding of wet-lab methodologies
  • Modelling of biological systems
  • R programming
