Sustainability Forum is Lund University’s umbrella organization for sustainable development. The office is placed at the Centre for Environmental and Climate Science (CEC). The university’s strategy for sustainable development expresses that ”A basic understanding and knowledge of sustainability is included in programs in all cycles and within all subjects”. One of the overall visions of the strategy also expresses that ”Lund University integrates sustainable development in its education, research, external engagement and organizational development, and the University’s employees are well aware of their roles in this work”.

We are now looking for you with ability and interest to support the educations and development of training in higher education teaching and learning in that context. You feel comfortable about working under your own responsibility, but in close cooperation with colleagues in the team who are responsible for research coordination, communication, collaborations, and student involvement.

Work duties

  • Based on the overall mission of Sustainability Forum and in close collaboration with colleagues, contribute to the operations and development of the organization.
  • By structured collaboration and support to actors within Lund University promote that understanding and knowledge about sustainable development is integrated in the university’s education.
  • Create and maintain relevant relations with internal and external actors.
  • Coordinate a university-wide initiative for excellence focusing on Agenda 2030 and sustainable development, which includes to support the development of training in higher education teaching and learning for postdoctoral researchers.
  • Take part in planning, carrying out and following up events, including the yearly Sustainability week.
  • Global outlook as well as monitoring of internal university activities.
  • Carry out basic administration included in the work duties.
  • Take active part in the common administrative support function at the Centre for Environmental and Climate Science.

The work duties may change over time. The role of the programme coordinator at Sustainability Forum is a newly formed position, which means that there are opportunities for designing the content of one’s working tasks in dialogue with the coordinator and fellow colleagues at the head office.

Qualifications

Requirements

  • Higher education, at least level of bachelor’s degree.
  • Experience of similar work from within the higher educational sector, other authorities or relevant organizations, in Sweden or internationally.
  • Experience of work in project form.
  • Very good knowledge about the UN global goals for sustainability and the 2030 Agenda.
  • Very good written and oral abilities in both Swedish and English.

Other merits

  • Degree from third cycle (post graduate) studies.
  • Experience of development of education, preferably within an interdisciplinary context.
  • Knowledge about and experience of pedagogical career development for researchers early in their career (postdoctoral level).

We will place great emphasis on personal suitability. Consideration will also be given to  good collaborative skills, drive and independence, and how the applicant’s experience and skills complement and strengthen the administrative work within the unit/department, as well as contribute to its future development.

Terms of employment
Permanent position, a probationary period of 6 months will be applied, starting 2021-10-01 or earlier. The extent of the employment is 100%.
