Your team
Lead by the HSE Group manager, safety group consist of radiation safety and occupational health and safety team. We are a group of 20 personnel specializing in various safety aspects namely radiation safety, chemical safety (gases included), machine safety, fire safety, environmental safety and security. The team provides expertise and support for projects and operations in MAX IV by ensuring the compliance to Swedish safety standards and legal requirements, despite the challenging environment of a research facility that explores the unknown relentlessly.

MAX IV are looking for  An experienced work environment engineer who can support us in our effort to enhance the physical work environment practices in MAX IV. You will be working hand-in hand with the group managers, project teams and support groups to lead and write risk assessments and provide your expertise to arrive to solutions. You will also coordinate information and input from your safety group members in this process.  We are now in a phase where safety processes and procedures are being reviewed and realigned to the organizations needs and this is why we need an experienced personnel who is able to provide practical solutions to our work-environment challenges.  

Your main work tasks will be

  1. Lead, coordinate and assist individuals in the organization in performing and following up on risk assessments until completion (writing risk assessment reports)
  • Risk in projects
  • Risk in construction
  • Risk in commissioning
  • Risk in major/minor changes
  • Risk in operations (Beamlines/Accelerator)
  • Risk in support teams in the organization
  1. Carry out work environment related measurements, inspections and investigations.
  2. Coordination tasks in projects or shutdown
  3. Establish checklists, procedures, instructions and investigations in work environment related areas.
  4. Establish and monitor contractor activity management.
  5. Lead the management review process, status updates and action.
  6. Support authority visits/inspections.
  7. Collaborate and coordinate information and input within the safety group

To be successful in this role you need to have the following qualifications

  1. Academic degree in engineering or equivalent experience working in work environment coordinator/engineer roles previously.
  2. Hands-on experience in performing physical risk assessments and documentation.
  3. Hands-on experience in work environment coordination roles (samordningsansvar)
  4. Knowledge in Swedish work-environment legislation and regulations and its applications.
  5. Good communication skills and good command of both Swedish and English language.

Below are seen as merits

  1. Experience in working with HSE Management system
  2. Experience in working with ISO 45001 and ISO 14001
  3. Knowledge and experience in Radiation Safety, Chemical and Gas Safety, Environmental management
