Subject description
The research group of Dr. Feiner (http://feiner-uller-group.se/) is recruiting a fully-funded postdoctoral researcher to investigate the evolutionary and developmental consequences of transposable elements (TEs) in the Hox gene clusters of Anolis lizards. The usually tightly organised Hox clusters of Anolis have been invaded by TEs. Our previous work has shown that this invasion is associated with changes in rates of diversification (Feiner, 2016, ProcB) and altered expression profiles of Hox genes (Feiner, 2019, Evol Lett). The successful applicant is expected to participate in a project that investigates functional genomic aspects of disrupted Hox gene clusters, using ATAC-seq, scRNA-seq or other omics approaches. The project plan will be adjusted based on the background and interest of the applicant.
