The Faculty of Engineering, LTH, Electrical and Information Technology

Lund University was founded in 1666 and is repeatedly ranked among the world’s top universities. The University has around 47 000 students and more than 8 800 staff based in Lund, Helsingborg and Malmö. We are united in our efforts to understand, explain and improve our world and the human condition.

Lund University welcomes applicants with diverse backgrounds and experiences. We regard gender equality and diversity as a strength and an asset.

The Department of Electrical and Information Technology (EIT) at Lund University, Faculty of Engineering (LTH), is one of the largest departments with about 120 employees and conducts research and teaching mainly in electrical engineering and computer technology. We are located on LTH's campus in northern Lund.

Subject description
The subject is Nanoelectronics and III-V Devices including Ferroelectrics. Within Nanoelectronics we develop and study new generations of electronics based on semiconductor technology. In particular, we develop and characterize new generations of RF-electronics based on III-V nanowire MOSFETs to be used as amplifiers and switches.

We will expand our activities with both industrial collaborations and exploratory research based on integration of ferroelectric materials on the RF-platform.

Work duties
The main duties involved in a post-doctoral position is to conduct research. Teaching may also be included, but up to no more than 20% of working hours. The position shall include the opportunity for three weeks of training in higher education teaching and learning.

  • Fabrication of high-performance MOSFETs in Lund NanoLab
  • DC- and RF-Characterization of MOSFETs
  • Circuit Design of Amplifiers and Detectors using III-V MOSFETs
  • Supervision of degree projects and doctoral students
  • Collaboration with industry
  • Administration related to the work duties listed above

Qualification requirements
Appointment to a post-doctoral position requires that the applicant has a PhD, or an international degree deemed equivalent to a PhD, within the subject of the position, completed no more than three years before the last date for applications. Additional requirements:

  • Very good oral and written proficiency in English.
  • Strong experience in III-V device technology
  • Documented skills in circuit design
  • Understanding of operation ferroelectric HfO2 materials
  • Experience in device characterization at millimeter wave frequences

Assessment criteria and other qualifications
This is a career development position primarily focused on research. The position is intended as an initial step in a career, and the assessment of the applicants will primarily be based on their research qualifications and potential as researchers. Particular emphasis will be placed on research skills within the subject.

For appointments to a post-doctoral position, the following shall form the assessment criteria:
