Work duties
The work duties include extraction of DNA from air filters in a clean lab, and preparation of PCRs for Next Generation Sequencing protocols.

Qualifications

  • Education: Minimum Master’s degree in relevant field, preferably PhD in molecular evolution
  • Experience: due to the short period of the vacancy, prior experience with working on airborne environmental DNA is essential
  • Knowledge: English language, knowledge of environmental DNA studies
  • Competences: Strong laboratory skills in DNA work are necessary, i.e. DNA extraction from sensitive material, PCR amplification with low risk of contamination, and library preparation of amplified products for Next Generation Sequencing 

We will place great emphasis on personal suitability. Consideration will also be given to good collaborative skills, drive and independence, and how the applicant’s experience and skills complement and strengthen the projects objectives of developing new protocols for studying airborne DNA, as well as contribute to its future development.

Terms of employment
The position is full time and fixed term for 3 months, with a start date on 2021-10-09.
