Subject description The applicant will be involved in finalising the research project OPTIMISM which includes developing a System Dynamics model to simulate the impacts of decarbonisation strategies on the SDGs, writing research papers, a final report and communication of research results. The research project deals with the use and interaction of SDGs in the low-carbon transition of the industry sector, with a special focus on the Swedish case.

Work duties The work duties include:

  • Modelling the impacts of low-carbon transition dynamics on the SDGs .
  • Writing academic research papers.
  • Writing a final report for the project OPTIMISM.
  • Communicating research results of the project to stakeholders and academia.

Qualification requirements Applicants must have:

  • A PhD or equivalent research qualification within the subject of the position.
  • Very good oral and written proficiency in English.
  • Experience of research on SDG interactions and industrial transformation.

Assessment criteria and other qualifications

  • Experience of collaboration in international research projects.
  • Knowledge of System Dynamic modelling.
  • Experience with participatory modelling.

Consideration will also be given to good collaborative skills, drive and independence, and how the applicant’s experience and skills complement and strengthen ongoing research within the department, and how they stand to contribute to its future development.

Terms of employment Fixed-term employment , 40%, from 1 November 2021 to 30 June 2022.
