The Research Group

The Järås group, at the Division of Clinical Genetics, works in translational projects within immune-oncology. For the current project, we will recruit an associate researcher to work in a company-sponsored project that addresses the role of inflammation in pancreatic cancer. In particular, the project will address the effect of antibody-based blockade of IL1RAP-signaling. Here, you can read more about our research.

We are now looking for an associate researcher to a project within the field of pancreatic cancer research. The position is a full time position time limited to 1 year starting January 1, 2022, or according to agreement.

Work duties and area of expertise

The person must independently, but in consultation with the group leader, conduct research projects in the subject area of ​​clinical genetics, immune-oncology, and more specifically pancreatic cancer research. The position includes work with:

  • Various assays related to IL1RAP
  • In vitro cell-based assays of pancreatic cancer
  • Various assays within molecular biology
  • Animal work
  • Cell cultures
  • Lentiviral vectors

Qualifications

The position requires:

  • PhD degree in a subject relevant for the project
  • Experience in working with the protein IL1RAP
  • Cancer research experience
  • Animal work experience
  • Excellent references from previous employer
  • Molecular biology experience
  • Cell culture experience
  • Flow cytometry experience

Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability. You must have a good ability to work independently and have good structural skills. You must also have excellent communication and collaboration skills as we work closely within the research team. 

The following are merits for the position:

  • Documented experience of lentiviral vectors
