The Department of Food Technology, Engineering, and Nutrition reimagines and improves both products and processes in the food supply chain.

As a temporary researcher, you are responsible for a couple of major research studies being pushed forward. You are responsible for project management, planning, co-ordination of all tasks to be performed during the project. The researcher is keeping track of budget. In addition, you are the leader of a national platform aimed at strengthening and visualizing Swedish food research. You also assist with specialist knowledge in the field of rheology and texture with a focus on food and assist with the supervision of doctoral students and masters students.

Qualification requirements

 Applicants must have:

  • Doctoral degree or other equivalent scientific competence in food technology
  • Knowledge of food product characteristics, food production and food business
  • Experience in applying for project funding
  • At least 5 years work experience with industrial connection
  • Extensive experience of international cooperation
  • Experience of project management at national and international level
  • Good oral and written proficiency in Swedish since the work involves close cooperation with the Swedish food industry
  • Good oral and written proficiency in English

You have the ability to work strategically, structured and quality conscious. You are self-employed and have the ability to work in a targeted manner and are good at completing tasks. You are social and responsive. Consideration will also be given to good collaborative skills, drive and independence, and how the applicant’s experience and skills complement and strengthen ongoing research within the department, and how they stand to contribute to its future development.

Assessment criteria and other qualifications

  • Educational experience, including supervision of degree projects and doctoral students
  • Experience working abroad for at least 6 months
  • Specialist knowledge in instrumentation, texture and rheology, DSC and dough characterization

Terms of employment Temporary position, 100 %, 2022-01-01  –  2022-06-30
