The Research Group

Professor Jonas Larsson leads the research group Stem Cell Regulation at the Division of Molecular Medicine and Gene Therapy. The research group conducts research within the field of regulation of human blood stem cells and the development of new strategies for targeted protein degradation. The research group is located at the Biomedical Center in Lund. Read more about our exciting research here.

We are now looking for an associate researcher to a project within the field of stem cell regulation and targeted protein degradation. The position is a  permanent full time position starting December 1, 2021, or according to agreement.

Work duties and area of expertise

The associate researcher will independently but in consultation with the group leader conduct research projects in stem cell regulation and targeted protein degradation. Supervision and mentoring of junior coworkers in the research group occurs to a large extent. The work tasks also involve the development of an independent research profile and the writing of grant applications.

Qualifications

The position requires:

  • PhD degree in a subject relevant for the project
  • Several years of experience in conducting research independently
  • Publication in reputable high impact journals
  • Documented experience working with Primary human blood stem cells, Proteomics, Flow cytometry and cell sorting, Lentiviral vectors, Next Generation Sequencing, Cell and molecular biology techniques
  • Documented experience of handling experimental animals (mice)
  • Basic knowledge of bioinformatics
  • Documented experience of mentoring and supervision of coworkers

Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability. You must have a good ability to work independently and take initiatives. You must also have excellent communication and collaboration skills as we work closely within the research team.

  • Experience of commercialization projects
  • Experience of patent applications
