The Department of Statistics employs about 15 researchers, teachers, doctoral students and other staff. We conduct research in several areas: analysis of high-dimensional data, Bayesian methods, spatial-temporal models, non-Gaussian modeling, applied research in social science subjects, and stochastic models and computational statistics.

Subject

The Department of Statistics (www.stat.lu.se/en) is looking for a senior lecturer in statistics with a focus on statistical methods in marketing for a permanent employment of 20%.

Work duties

The employment consists of teaching courses related to marketing and business analysis, essay supervision and statistical supervision for students in business administration. The employment also consists of research and administration.

Eligibility

Eligible to be employed as a senior lecturer is someone who has demonstrated pedagogical skills and has completed a doctoral degree in statistics.

Lund University also requires at least five weeks of completed training in teaching and learning in higher education. If such formal education is lacking, an assessment will be made as to whether corresponding knowledge and skills have been acquired in another way.

Qualifications

Experience of teaching applied statistical methods in marketing is required.

Experience of research on statistical methods in marketing is an advantage.

Personal qualities that are required are openness, creativity, perseverance and drive. The person must also be able to collaborate with others inside and outside the academy.

Conditions

This is a permanent employment of 20%.

Employment as a senior lecturer is regulated in the Higher Education Ordinance, Chapter 4, and in Lund's University Appointment Ruels 4.3.4.
