About the research group

At Medical Radiation Physics, Malmö, research is conducted in the interdisciplinary subject of medical radiation physics, where techniques for diagnosis and treatment of ionizing and non-ionizing radiation are studied and further developed for the best possible use in health care and medical research. Research has been at the forefront of the field for several years. The research group is led by Professor Lars E Olsson and consists of both research and technical staff. Professor Christopher Rääf has conducted research in environmental radiology and is responsible for the research group's radiometry laboratory. We are now looking for a Researcher in Medical radiation physics. The employment is a fixed-term position, limited to 12 months, with the scope of 20% of full-time. Preliminary starting date is 1st of January 2022 or according to agreement.

Work duties

As an experienced researcher, you will be expert support in assignments related to mobile gamma spectrometry and radiation protection. You will also have an active role as a representative for these projects in Nordic and European collaborations.

In addition to these tasks, you will also be an assistant supervisor for a doctoral student.

Qualifications

The following are required for the position:

  • Doctoral degree in medical radiation physics with a focus on field gamma spectrometry
  • Extensive experience of organizing and conducting studies and exercises on radiological and nuclear emergencies
  • Extensive expertise and experience of working in the field of radiation protection and emergency preparedness
  • Experience in cooperating with authorities at national and international level

Special emphasis will be placed on certain personal qualities. We are looking for you who can express Yourself clearly both in written and verbally and is interested in teaching and pedagogics.

The following are also considered a merit:

  • Experience in teaching
  • ADR license for Category 7 transports
