The research group
Schmidtchen lab conducts world-leading research in innate immunity and wound healing, and has long-term support from the Swedish Research Council, which in Nov 2020 ranked the project as No. 1 in medicine. The focus for the past two decades has been on studies of our innate immunity mechanisms and the development of new therapy concepts for infective-inflammatory diseases – from wound healing to systemic applications. Collaborations with many external and internal stakeholders are ongoing as well. The therapy concepts are developed in collaboration with biotech companies at Medicon Village, Lund.
Those who work with the projects in the team include three associate professors/senior researchers, technical personnel, and MDs.

Within the department, we ensure a good working environment with respect and consideration in our relationships with each other. We are constantly working to create the conditions for job satisfaction, development and participation for all employees.

The research group is now looking for a laboratory engineer for a temporary employment with proposed start date 2022-03-01 (or by agreement) until 2022-12-31.
