The Department is looking for a researcher who specializing in social science research in the field of extractivism but are open to consider other social science research studies of sustainability. Interest in feminist and decolonial theory is a benefit. 

Assignments 
This position is for a research assistant to carry out a literature review on Extractivism and its Gendered implications Transnationally to support a funding application and a peer-reviewed publication in the spring 2022 

The researcher to be hired is expected to contribute to the project through supporting research on the gendered implications of extractivism. This will involve preparing a systemic literature review and contributing to publications and research proposals. The researcher will be guided by the project team. Previous experience working on extractivism in developing country contexts is highly regarded.

Qualifications and assessment
To be appointed as a researcher requires a Masters degree in a field of relevance to the position, i.e. human ecology, sustainability science, other relevant social science or humanities disciplines or interdisciplinary research.

The basis for assessment is the ability to develop and conduct high quality research. The applicants must be able to demonstrate:

  • Documented research expertise through the quality of their thesis and/or other publications.
  • Methodological qualifications and experience with qualitative research methods and training and/or experience with systematic reviews
  • Fluent English (written and spoken) is a requirement.
