Subject description
The position is for researcher for one year to work within the project ”Broad-Scale Patterns in Organic Matter Concentrations of Inland Waters”

The project will use satellite remote sensing for research on water optics. Different input levels and concentrations of organic matter from different sources will be assessed as factors that affect water quality. Analytical algorithms that derive the water CDOM (Colored Dissolved Organic Matter) component from optical properties will be applied.

The research will address changes in water color over time in inland water and coastal areas in Sweden, by using different types of sensors with different resolutions, e.g. UAVs, Landsat-8 and Sentinel-2. The main purpose is to test how remotely sensed data can be used as a tool for monitoring change in water color and thus water quality.

Work duties
Detailed description of the work duties, such as:
• Research within the subject area, writing and publishing articles
• Developing methods of modeling and remote sensing for CDOM estimation.

Qualification requirements
Applicants must have:
• A PhD or equivalent research qualification within the subject of the position.
• Very good oral and written proficiency in English.
• At least 2 years of experience of aquatic remote sensing
• Programming: Python, R.
