Work duties
We work on cell-based methods for the analysis and prediction of inflammatory and immunotoxic effects such as allergy. This includes studies of the cellular and molecular mechanisms involved in immunological responses caused by e.g. chemicals and their mixtures, for example in skin sensitization. Tasks include cell culture of primary cells and cell lines, various cell-based assays, and analyses of RNA and protein expression. Thus, cell culture and cell analysis with the help of various (immunological) methods, will be important parts of the project. The assignments may also include supervision of students, and there may be participation in the department's undergraduate courses.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in biotechnology / biology / immunology / chemical engineering or equivalent
  • Good knowledge of and documented experience (such as employment certificate, publication) in cell-based approaches
  • Practical experience of aseptic technique, cell culture
  • Practical experience of different cell biological / immunological / molecular biological methods
  • Ability to independently plan, carry out and evaluate experiments and present results
  • Very good knowledge of English, in speech and writing

Other merits

  • Practical experience working with dendritic cells, other immune cells, primary cell models and co-cultures
  • Practical experience in methods such as flow cytometry, multiparametric flow cytometric analysis and cell sorting, microscopy, ELISA, Western blot, RT-PCR
  • Experimental experience with -omics methods and / or RNA sequencing
  • Good knowledge of statistical methods for analysis of biological data / bioinformatics
  • Experienced handling of chemicals that are hazardous to health and the environment
  • Experience in writing scientific articles or reports
  • PhD in a suitable field, e.g. biotechnology / biology / immunology / chemistry
  • Good knowledge of Swedish, in speech and writing

Probationary employment may be applied.
