Transport and Roads, Lund University, is a centre of excellence in Sweden for the study of sustainable transport. Our innovative and ground-breaking multi-disciplinary teaching and research are internationally recognized and cover topics ranging from traffic safety and accessibility for older and disabled people to intelligent vehicles, automatic vehicle recognition and railway capacity and punctuality.

The research group Traffic safety and behaviour deals with the subject of road safety and related behaviour in a broad context. The research activities cover subjects such as accident modelling, surrogate measures of safety and pro-active safety analysis and evaluation of road safety measures.

The group needs to recruit a project assistant with focus on VR simulation and programming.

Work duties

  • Assistance in developing a framework for VR simulation in a game engine driven development environment.
  • Responsibility for 3D modelling for a game engine driven development environment, for example by developing a bicycle simulator based on virtual reality.
  • Recording with drone at sights in southern Sweden and processing the films afterwards.
  • Other tasks within ongoing research projects in traffic safety.

Qualifications

  • Experience with the C# programming language.
  • Experience with the Unity game engine
  • Experience with 3D modelling in either maya or blender.
  • As a person you should have take great initiative, have general engineering skills and a documented habit of independent field work.
  • Familiarity with the Office package as well as software for traffic analysis.
  • Relevant knowledge in traffic safety.

Terms of employment  Temporary employment, 75%, 5 months with start according to agreement.
