Description of the workplace
Our research group is intrigued by how we can utilize the setting of normal embryonic nervous system development to understand tumor initiation. We have a highly transdisciplinary approach, merging the worlds of developmental and cancer biology. We are physically located at BMC in Lund and are part of the strategic areas Lund Stem Cell Center (SCC) and  Lund University Cancer Center (LUCC).

We are now looking for a driven laboratory assistant to support the project.

Duties and responsibilities
In the role of laboratory assistant you will mainly carry out practical work in the laboratory and take active part in group meetings. Other tasks within the research group may also occur.

Qualifications
Requirements for the employment are:

- MSc in biomedicine and biology or equivalent degree from a foreign university.
- Experience of practical work with chick embryos, cryosectioning, confocal imaging, immunohistochemistry, cell culture, cell implantations and microdissections.
- Experience of working in a team with common goals.
- Very good knowledge of the English language, both orally and in writing.
- That you are independent and have the ability to run a project.
- That you are communicative.

Highly desirable:
- Previous research studies in the laboratory such as MSc thesis.
- Experience from an Erasmus exchange from a foreign university.
- The ability to absorb new information in a short time
- That you have great motivation and drive for your work.

The employment is a fixed-term employment for 6 months, full-time and with a start date of 15 February 2022, or by agreement
