The Division of Water Resources Engineering (DWRE) is the largest division, in terms of the number of employees, at the Department of Building and Environmental Technology in the Faculty of Engineering (LTH). DWRE conducts research, teaching, and consultancy with focus on water in society and nature. DWRE has a long tradition to work with partners both in the private and public sector within in the areas of hydrology and hydraulics emphasizing modeling and forecasts to be used in water resources planning, water supply, as well as for flooding and sediment transport.

Work duties
You will work with river basin hydrological modelling, with special focus on the Rönne å catchment. The work includes processing and analysis of hydrological data as well as simulation of the flow regime with different conditions including the effects of dam operations interacting with other hydrological parameters. The observations and results from the studies in Rönne å may be used for comparative investigations in other rivers.

Qualifications

  • A Master’s degree in Water Resources Engineering or corresponding
  • Experience from working with flow models, particularly the computer model MikeSHE and MikeHYDRO, for conditions in the temperate climatic zone
  • Knowledge on data processing and analysis using different software, including statistics and GIS
  • Good oral and written proficiency in English

Other merits:

Fixed-term employment, 40% during 6 months.
