Description of the workplace
The position as research engineer is placed within the Active and Healthy Ageing Research Group. The duties also include work for researchers in the Applied Gerontology Research Group. The research groups share the same premises and are linked to the interdisciplinary Centre for Ageing and Supportive Environments (CASE) and also collaborate with researchers active in the Lund University Population Research Platform (LUPOP). CASE engages senior and early-career researchers who represent various disciplines and professions, such as epidemiology, gerontology, occupational therapy, public health, psychology and economics, at four of the University’s faculties. LUPOP is an overall infrastructure at Lund University for population investigations based on data from private individuals.

Duties and responsibilities
You will be involved in a context that engages epidemiologists, gerontologists, occupational therapists and other health scientists, psychologists etc. in extensive national and international contexts. This may involve business travel.
You will have responsibility for the advanced processing of data in large national register databases and a number of cohort studies that are stored and analysed within LUSEC (a secure platform for data processing at the Faculty of Medicine).

The person we are looking for has an academic education at Master’s level in a subject area relevant to the position, preferably epidemiology, statistics, econometrics, computer science or other education or experience the employer deems to have corresponding value.

It is important that you place great importance on providing the best possible service to the staff members and partners concerned. You must have the ability to efficiently and independently prioritise various work assignments in a work situation in which the workload often varies significantly over time. Furthermore, you must be thorough, have a marked organisational ability and good collaboration skills. Great importance is placed on personal suitability.

This is a fixed-term position, 50-75% of full-time working hours, with a starting date of 1 May 2022 or according to agreement, for a period not to extend beyond 31 December 2023.
