Research group
The research group is active within The Division of Clinical Genetics, Lund University, Sweden, a world-leading research environment in cancer research. The research group focus on unravelling the pathogenetic mechanisms involved in hematopoietic cell transformation using a combination of genomic approaches and murine genetic models. More specifically, by using high-resolution genomic studies, also at the single-cell level and in vivo models, our goal is to gain new knowledge on how leukemia arises, and best should be treated. The research project focus on functional characterization of leukemia-associated genetic changes using a combination of in vitro work, leukemia mouse models, treatment studies, and high-resolution genomic studies including targeted genomic sequencing, RNA-sequencing and single-cell RNA sequencing.

Work duties
We are looking for a highly motivated scientist with a suitable research background. The areas of responsibility will primarily involve studying leukemia using various mouse models, and will involve transplantations, blood sampling, treatment studies including administration of drugs by oral gavage, flow cytometry including sorting to obtain highly purified populations, cell culture, virus making, transduction, and other molecular genetics work including targeted sequencing by NGS, RNA-sequencing, single-cell RNA sequencing and bioinformatics.

Qualifications
The following is required of applicants to this position:

  • PhD-degree
  •  Previous experience from research on cancer or hematopoietic malignancies is required,
  • previous experience of animal work also with immunodeficient mice, tail vein transplantations, blood sampling, oral gavage, IP and S.C injections, virus making, transductions, targeted sequencing by NGS, RNA-sequencing, single cell sequencing, western blot, Drug assays (ATP-or similar), and experience in cell culturing.
  • Its required that the applicant can work with and analyze flow cytometry data and perform sorting of highly purified cell populations using FACS.
