Subject description
In this project, we aim to study liquid-liquid phase separation (LLPS) mediated by intrinsically disordered proteins (IDPs). The goal is to achieve a sufficient molecular understanding of why and how IDPs promote LLPS. Given the crucial role of IDPs, understanding the molecular and cellular factors that control their reversible LLPS would be invaluable. For this purpose, a combination of atomistic and coarse-grained molecular dynamics and Monte Carlo simulations with experiments such as small-angle X-ray scattering, isothermal calorimetry, precipitation experiments, and solution nuclear magnetic resonance) will be used.
