Description of the workplace
Medical Microspectroscopy and Lung Bioengineering and Regeneration groups conduct research in the field of proteinopathies. Our research is focused on defining and understanding molecular mechanisms related to in vivo protein misfolding and aggregation. We work both with cells and tissues using animal- and cell biology experiments. The research engineer will join a growing multidisciplinary team of biomedical researchers dedicated to increasing knowledge about proteinopathies. The long-term goal of our research is to contribute to the development of new treatments and diagnostics for proteinopathies where effective treatments are still lacking. More information can be found here and here. The MMS group is led by Senior lecturer Oxana Klementieva, Lung Bioengineering and Regeneration is led by Senior lecturer Darcy Wagner. This position will be placed at BMC in Lund.

Work duties and area of responsibilities
Subject description: immunohistochemical analysis of the protein structures in tissues
The research engineer will focus on sample preparation and immunohistochemical analysis of the protein structures in tissues. The project will deal with using various microspectroscopic techniques.
