The Department of Arts and Cultural Sciences at Lund University is a multifaceted disciplinary environment for research and higher education, with around 90 employees and approximately 1700 students per year. The Department of Arts and Cultural Sciences runs several research environments and study programmes in the first, second and third cycles, distributed over nine divisions and two specialised centres.
Lund University hereby announces vacancies for three two-year employment positions for postdoctoral research fellows in cultural history perspectives, one specialising in the media, one specialising in aesthetics and one specialising in the study of knowledge and science, all based at the Department of Arts and Cultural Sciences.
A person is qualified for employment as a postdoctoral research fellow mainly if they have completed a doctoral degree, or an international degree deemed equivalent to a doctoral degree, no more than three years before taking up the employment position. If they completed their degree more than three years prior to employment, their application is to include certification of parental leave, sick leave, assignment as an elected representative of an employee organisation, military service or similar circumstances, or of duties or assignments of relevance to the subject area.
The positions require good written and oral English language skills. As Swedish is the official language of public authorities including Lund University, the ability to speak Swedish or another Scandinavian language is desirable.
The assessment criteria are a good ability to develop and implement research of high quality, and teaching ability. For employment as a postdoctoral research fellow, research ability will be the main criterion. As grounds for assessment of their qualifications, the applicants are to attach a research plan for the research they intend to implement during their employment. Only applicants whose research plan and previous work are deemed capable of reinforcing the research environment at the Department of Arts and Cultural Sciences will be considered for employment as postdoctoral research fellows.
Additional qualifications for employment are a research plan and previous research of clear relevance for, and links to, at least two of the research subjects at the Department of Arts and Cultural Sciences.

Conditions
The postdoctoral research fellowships have a fixed term of two years unless special circumstances apply and the positions are for full-time employment pursuant to the “Agreement on fixed-term employment as a postdoctoral research fellow” between the labour market parties dated 19 November 2021 (Swedish Agency for Government Employers, Public Employees’ Negotiation Council’s affiliated unions collectively, SACO-S and SEKO employee organisations).
