Description of the workplace
The research group at the department of Building and Environmental Technology at LTH works with wood and other bio-based materials. The research group consists of five researchers total, whereof two focus on durability issues.
Starting spring 2022-05-01, the research group will work in the joint European project WoodLCC
(https://forestvalue.org/joint-call-2021/).
The overall objective of the project is to enable robust life cycle costing of wood through providing (modelling) reliable input. The responsibility of LTH specifically targets modelling of moisture content of rain-exposed wood and its effect on fungal decay and other biotic and abiotic deteriorating mechanisms.

Work duties
You will independently, under supervision of the project leader, be responsible for a smaller part of the project connected to modelling the effect of precipitation on the moisture content of wood. Your methods will be regression analysis with statistical methods such as PCA and PLS.
You will publish scientific journal articles, contribute to conferences, and support other parts of the aforementioned project.
Employment begins as soon as possible, but latest at 2022-07-01.

The position is a fixed term position for 8 months at 100 per cent of full time and starting in 2022-07-01. Interviews will be conducted on our premises in Lund during May and June 2022.
