Description of the workplace

The research group Neural Stem Cells at the Department of Experimental Medical Science within the Faculty of Medicine, currently conducts research in neural stem cells and is at the forefront of its field. Lund University is at the forefront of cell and gene therapy research, to translate research into therapies called ATMP (Advanced Therapy Medicinal Products) supports the Faculty of Medicine Lund's stem cell center's establishment of a Pre-GMP facility. Good manufacturing practice (GMP) is a way of working to manufacture therapy products and differs significantly from production in a research lab in terms of degree of purity, processes and documentation. The pre-GMP facility, when established, shall consist of expertise in GMP practices and premises where GMP development can be performed to produce pre-clinical cell and gene therapy products (except GMP-classified premises). The main task of the pre-GMP facility is to support researchers in technology transfer from manufacturing process under good research method to manufacturing under GMP-classified methods. The research group is led by Professor Anna Falk. We are now looking for a driven and experienced project manager. Duties and responsibilities

 As Project Manager for the establishment of the Pre-GMP facility, you will work with planning, collaboration, support for researchers, establishment of GMP working methods, purchase of equipment, contact with regulatory authorities, collaboration with Skåne University Hospital (SUS) and their GMP / ATMP facility. You will be responsible for planning and carrying out the establishment work and regularly report to LU's ATMP group. The work is mostly administrative but also practical laboratory work can occur.

Your work will steer towards the vision of a seamless flow between the researchers and the Pre-GMP facility at LU on to the GMP facility at SUS to accelerate pre-clinical treatments to the patient.

Qualifications

Requirements for employment are:

-Completed doctoral studies in stem cell biology, cell biology, gene therapy, cell therapy, molecular biology or equivalent

-Documented experience of work in GMP at PhD and postdoctoral level

-Documented experience of cell or gene therapy

-Documented experience of planning and execution of manufacturing in GMP environment

-Good ability to plan and lead work

-Good ability to work well in collaborative projects both within a group and with other groups and with other sectors (for example health care)

-Great drive and a burning interest in ATMP

-Good ability to find solutions and create collaborations

-Documented good ability to present in speech and writing

-Good ability to read, speak and write in Swedish and English

-Experience and good ability to organize and structure lab activities, collaborations

-Experience of taking great responsibility and having a great commitment to the work

-personal qualities such as structured, accurate and enduring

Qualifying for the position is experience of:

-Teaching GMP working methods

-Standardization of methods, cells and viruses

-Gene editing under GMP

-Administrative tasks

-Interdisciplinary collaborations

-Good ability to supervise employees

The employment is a fixed-term employment for 2 years with a scope of 100 percent of full-time employment with appointment as soon as possible.
