Description of the workplace 

The Division of Pure and Applied Biochemistry has research and education in the areas of molecular imprinting, bioseparation technology, protein engineering, bio- and biomimetic sensors, biomaterials and biomedical nutrition. The division is now seeking an experienced researcher to strengthen its competence in bioanalytical electrochemistry for development of new biomimetic sensors.

Work duties 

The work duties include:

  • Research in the fields of analytical electrochemistry.
  • Research in the use of molecularly imprinted polymers for biochemical analysis.
  • Supervision of undergraduate students, degree workers and doctoral students.
  • Application of external research funding.
  • Administration work related to the tasks mentioned above.

Qualifications  

Applicants must have:

  • Completed doctoral degree in the fields of analytical chemistry.
  • Very good oral and written proficiency in English.
  • Experience in analytical and bioanalytical electrochemistry.
  • Experience of using molecularly imprinted polymers in electrochemical sensors.

Additional qualifications for the position are:

  • Knowledge of molecular imprinting technique.
  • Experience of applying research grants.

Consideration will also be given to how the applicant’s experience and skills complement and strengthen ongoing research within the department, and how they stand to contribute to its future development. 

Further information 

The position is a fixed term position for one year at 100 percent of full time, starting in May 2022 or by agreement.
