Description of the subject areas
The researcher will work within the project “Global search for science: How do multinational companies establish collaborations with distant universities funded by the Crafoord Foundation. The project aims to investigates the drivers of the establishment of international collaborations with distant universities by multinational companies. It, further, aims at identifying the impact of such collaborations on knowledge creation within the multinational group. The project will first consist of building up a large-scale dataset of patents, publications, and other company information then use this data to perform econometric analyses on the factors that lead to the establishment of such international collaborations. The results of the project will provide important evidence on how MNEs can strategically source knowledge from academia, taking into account the motivations and type of knowledge needed.
Work tasks
The temporary researcher is expected to actively participate in the research project by doing research (together with the project participants) and thereby contribute to the projects objectives by writing and publishing research articles based on the empirical results obtained. More specifically, the selected candidate is expected to participate mainly in the data collection and analyses using econometric models. The temporary researcher will be provided with necessary equipment and an office space at the department.
