Description of the workplace

The research group of Clinical Memory Research conducts research in dementia diseases. Our research has been at the forefront of the research area for several years. The group is led by Professor Oskar Hansson and consists of research and technical staff. You can read more about our exciting research here: http://www.biofinder.se. Our research group is located at the Memory Clinic in Malmö, and at BMC in Lund. This position will be located at BMC in Lund.

Work duties and areas of responsibility

As a project assistant within our research group you will work with advanced mathematical and statistical analyzes of multimodal data in the BioFINDER study. Your duties mainly include developing and validating mathematical and statistical models of associations between different types of biochemical markers, disease processes detected and quantified with brain imaging (MRI / PET) and clinical measures (cognition and function). The aim of these analyzes is partly to expand our understanding of disease mechanisms in Alzheimer's disease and other neurodegenerative diseases, and partly to improve opportunities to make an accurate and early diagnosis and prognosis in clinical routine and in clinical trials of new drugs. Other tasks may also occur.

Qualifications
The following are required for the position:

  • Master’s degree in physics, mathematics data science or other relevant discipline
  • Good knowledge of statistical programming in R or other relevant program
  • Very high proficiency in English, in speech and writing
  • Ambitious, meticulous and independent as a person

The following are considered to be a merit:

  • Experience of mathematical or statistic modelling of complex processes
  • Experience of programming in R

Other information
The employment is fixed-term, full-time position for 8 months. Starting date is the 15th of August 2022 or according to agreement.
