The research project is part of ScanOats, an industrial research centre with oat in focus. The general aim of the project is to develop new oat varieties with improved storage stability.

The work tasks include analysis of lipids, lipases and rancidity products in oat. Methods regularly used within the project will include e.g. lipid extraction, lipid class separation using TLC and/or SPE column, fatty acid analysis using GC, and fluorometric determination of lipase activity. Analysis is to be made on different harvested oats, and on samples from an ongoing storage study. The research also includes conducting literature reviews and to grow and harvest oats in greenhouses. Other existing tasks within the research group may also be relevant.

The position is a fixed term employment six months (100%), with starting date according to agreement.
