Biotechnology is an area of central significance for the transition to a sustainable society. In this research discipline, microorganisms or their components are developed and utilized using environmentally sustainable methods to achieve technical products and services. The researcher position is placed at the Department of Chemistry, Division of Biotechnology. Research in the division involves both fundamental and applied studies within the specific areas. The specific application areas are industrial biotechnology, environmental biotechnology and biotechnology for health. The division runs various multidisciplinary projects in collaboration with several industrial partners, which involve the development of microbial processes for transformation of biomass components into chemical building blocks suited for circular economy.

The position is a fixed term employment for six months at 100 per cent of full time and starting as soon as possible, according to agreement.
