Description of the workplace
The Endocrine cell differentiation research team at the Department of Laboratory Science within the Faculty of Medicine currently conducts research in pancreatic cancer and endocrine cell differentiation and is at the forefront of its field. At present, the research team is working on how Hox genes regulate cancer cell biology. The group is international and comprises research, administration and technical staff. We are now looking for a driven and experienced researcher in cancer biology to support the project. Work duties and areas of responsibility
The research assignment consists in you independently conducting analysis and validation of transcriptomics of pancreatic cancer cells, under the leadership of the project manager. The analysis includes cell culture, gene expression analysis, and histology. The work duties also comprise data analysis, FACS and immunohistochemistry. You will also publish articles in research journals, contribute to conferences and assist in the other work duties that the above-mentioned research project entails.

Qualifications
The requirements for the position are:

  •  A doctoral degree in Developmental Biology
  •  Experience of research in pancreatic cancer biology
  •  Experience of analyzing transcriptomics of cancer cells, including functional validation,     working with relevant cell culture systems, molecular biology
  •  The ability to conduct independent research at an advanced level
  •  Very good knowledge of English
  •  Good analytical ability and a good ability to collaborate

Additional qualifications for the position are:

  •  Experience of dissection and histological analysis of animal models
  •  Previous experience of research in similar projects

Further information
The employment is for a fixed term of 5 months at full time, with start date 2022-08-01 or according to agreement.
