Description of the workplace

Professor Anders Bjartell is group leader at the Division of Urological Cancers, Department of Translational Medicine. The research group is internationally well-known in the area of translational and clinical prostate cancer with a large collaborative network. The group includes senior researchers, postdocs, technical and administrative personnel and is funding by long-term grants from EC, the Swedish Scientific Council, the Swedish Cancer Society and other national and international grants.

Work duties and areas of responsibility

In your role as associate researcher you will take a lead in project management related to preclinical development of drugs based on molecular targets in prostate cancer, supervision of technical personnel and postdocs, reporting and publishing of results, and communication and collaboration with other research groups and life-science companies.

The work is related to preclinical development of anti-cancer drugs in prostate cancer. In vitro and in vivo methods, PCR, Flow cytometry, immunohistochemistry, confocal imaging, multiplex immunofluorescense and xenograft in animals. Additional tasks may be included.

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • PhD in relevant field.
  • Experience from molecular cancer research in and academic and industrial environment.
  • Experience in the aforementioned work duties.
  • Personality and team work are of utmost importance as well as to learn new methods critically evaluate, interpret and publish experimental data.  
  • Previous experience from development of cancer drugs in vitro and in vivo.

Additional requirements:

  • Project management in development of cancer drugs, preclinical immuno-oncology and in vitro methods including flow cytometry.

Terms of employment

The employment as an associate researcher is a full time fixed-term employment during the period 2022-09-15 - 2024-09-13.
